The Galloway Hoard was found in 2014 in a field on kirk land near Balmaghie, which sits on the edge of the beautiful Loch Ken in Dumfries and Galloway. The hoard, a collection of stunning gold and silver jewellery and artefacts is estimated to be worth more than £2 million. There are about 100 pieces and is the most significant find of Anglo-Saxon treasure to be made in Scotland, buried in approx AD900
